One of the most dangerous spiders globally, with venom that has the potential to be fatal if left untreated. It is native to a 100 km radius of Sydney.
Blue-ringed octopus (Hapalochlaena maculosa)
Is an extremely venomous marine animal known for the bright, iridescent blue rings it displays when threatened. This small octopus, which ranges in size from 12 to 20 cm. Although its bite contains the powerful neurotoxin tetrodotoxin, the animal is docile and unlikely to bite unless handled.
Inland Taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus)
Also known as the fierce snake, the inland Tiapan is the world’s most venomous snake, one bite contains enough venom to kill 100 men.
Cone Snail (Conus geographus)
One sting from this predatory snail could kill many adults.These snails are found near Indo-Pacific ocean reefs and are most likely encountered when they are stepped on.
Irukandji (Carukia barnesi)
Irukandji jellyfish are a very small (avg 2.5cm), transparent cubozoan jellyfish found in the waters across Australia’s Northern and Eastern coast. They are the smallest jellyfish in the world – yet have some of the most potent venom which can be fatal to humans.
